Gross profit vs profit and loss differences
The Gross Profit report and the Profit and Loss statement in RockifyERP can show different numbers. Here’s why.
What you need to know
- Gross Profit is calculated per invoice line from selling price minus valuation rate.
- Profit and Loss uses posted ledger entries, including stock adjustments and other costs.
- Returns, landed costs and back-dated stock entries are the usual causes of differences.
Tip: Use Gross Profit for product and customer margins, and Profit and Loss for the overall result.
