Permissions by reporting line

In RockifyERP, managers can automatically see the records of the people who report to them, based on the Reports To field on each employee.

How to do it in RockifyERP

  1. Make sure each employee record has Reports To filled in and is linked to a user.
  2. Add a user permission for the manager on Employee, choosing their own employee record.
  3. Leave Hide Descendants unticked, so the permission covers everyone below them.
  4. The manager now sees leave, expense claims and other records for their whole team.

Tip: Keep the Reports To field up to date when people change teams, or managers will see the wrong records.
